C. Russell Davis - Director/Manager

  • Russell joined the Glisson staff in 2007.  His duties include overall responsibility for all Glisson ministries.  Raised in Dublin, Georgia, Russell brings to this role 15 years experience in United Methodist camping.  He served North Georgia churches in youth ministry in the years prior to beginning his camp and retreat ministry, a time during which he led numerous youth retreats at Camp Glisson.

Shirley Chastain - Business Manager

  • Shirley has been on the Glisson staff since 1976.  Her duties include managing the business operations and handling the bookkeeping, but she is passionate about Glisson's ministry and the difference it makes in the lives of children and youth.

David Stubblefield - Maintenance Director

  • David joined the Glisson staff in 1995 and has served as Maintenance Director since 1998.  He is responsible for all building and ground maintenance, as well as housekeeping.  In addition to coordinating all maintenance activities, David also serves on rotation as host to retreat groups - making sure the retreat experience is as smooth as possible, allowing groups to hear God's still, small voice during their retreats on this holy ground.

David Schnitzer - Program Director

  • David's work in camp ministry began in 1991 at the age of 15, and he has been actively involved in camp ministry ever since.  His full-time camp ministry began in 1999.  From 2004-2005 David actually ran his own Adventure Travel company - planning leadership development excursions from Atlanta to Alaska, before joining the Glisson staff in 2005.  David is responsible for every aspect of the Glisson summer camp program - including leadership and direction of more than 100 summer staff members - as well as coordination of numerous retreat events, including the conference-wide Confirmation Retreats in January and February.

Phil Dodson - Director of Development

  • Phil joined the Glisson staff in 2006.  He was a Glisson summer camper himself from 1975 through 1979, and attended numerous youth retreats at Glisson with his UMYF group through 1982.  Phil's three children now represent a third generation of Dodsons as Glisson summer campers.  His responsibilities include all on-going fundraising efforts, as well as the newly-created Glisson Alumni ministry.

Erin Cook - Registrar

  • Erin has been on the Glisson staff since 2003.  As Registrar, Erin is responsible for all aspects of summer camp registration, scheduling for retreat groups, and coordination for various other types of events held at Glisson.  Her three children are Glisson summer campers.  If you are interested in scheduling a retreat at Glisson, or have questions about summer camp registration, Erin is the one to call.

Raymond Deblois - Assistant Maintenance Director

  • Raymond has served on the Glisson staff since 1998.  His responsibilities include assisting in facilities maintenance, groundskeeping and housekeeping.  In addition to his maintenance duties, Raymond also serves on a rotation as host to weekend retreat groups, involving everything from welcoming groups as they arrive to facilitating their program scheduling, meeting spaces and evening activities.  Raymond is also the parent of a Glisson summer camper.

Melissa Carroll - Development Assistant

  • Melissa has been a member of the Glisson staff since 2002.  As Development Assistant, Melissa's primary duties include facilitating communication with donors and maintaining the development database.  Melissa is also heavily involved in the launch of the new Glisson Alumni ministry.  She is deeply committed to the Glisson ministry and the spiritual impact it has on children, youth and adults.

Pam Swafford - Administrative Assistant

  • Pam joined the Glisson staff in 2004.  She is usually the first person you meet when you visit Glisson, and typically is the first voice you hear when you call us.  Pam organizes many of Glisson's marketing efforts, manages The Miner's Shack (our camp store) and coordinates communication with our Glisson Ambassadors.

Les Nix - Maintenance Assistant

  • Les has been a member of the Glisson staff since 2003.  His duties include assisting in facilities maintenance, groundskeeping and housekeeping.  Les sees himself as a steward of the facilities and grounds here at Glisson - a place which allows visitors to hear and respond to God's call in their lives.

Judy Boulineau - Housekeeper

  • Judy joined the Glisson staff in 2003.  She brings over 40 years of experience in housekeeping to Glisson.  She takes great pride in keeping Glisson facilities clean for the children, youth and adults who enjoy transformational experiences here.

Grady Cantrell - Maintenance Assistant

  • Grady joined the Glisson Maintenance staff in a part-time capacity in 2007.  His role involves assisting in Facilities maintenance, groundskeeping and housekeeping.  He brings a strong work ethic, and a wonderfully positive spirit, to his role in preparing Glisson facilities and grounds for our many visitors throughout the year.

Claire Sellner - Intern

  • Claire was a Glisson summer camper for 9 years from 1993 through 2001.  She then served as a summer counselor in 2003, and returned to the summer staff as Outpost Director for 2006 and 2007.  In her role as Intern currently, Claire is planning the Adventure Outpost program for 2008, has helped produce the Glisson newsletter, and also coordinated the first-ever Hispanic Retreat at Glisson for hispanic youth from United Methodist congregations across North Georgia.

Ashley Waite - Intern

  • Ashley was a Glisson summer camper for 8 summers from 1995 through 2002.  She joined the summer staff as Counselor in 2005, then served as an Outpost Trip Leader in 2006 and a Section Leader in Village Camp for 2007.  As an Intern currently, Ashley is scheduling retreats, coordinating staffing for retreats, revising the staff database and is maintaining the summer camp portions of this newly-designed Glisson website.
