- One of the favorite activities of the day, especially for the kids, was panning for gold and gemstones - hosted by Consolidated Gold Mine of Dahlonega. Alumni enjoyed re-enacting Singing on the Porch after lunch.

- The worship service was led by former Glisson Director/Managers, from left to right, Rev. Jimmy Moor, Rev. Bob Landord and Rev. Gary Greenwald. Pictured at far right is current Glisson Director/Manager, Russell Davis. - The archery range, located behind the Holland Building, was a new addition to the summer camp program in 2007. Glisson Day visitors had a chance to try their luck with the help of Glisson staff.

- The last activity of the day was the closing circle after the swimming center consecration. The "My Friend" song was sung - a fitting end to a very memorable day.

- Our Dining Hall was filled to the rafters on Glisson Day, with diners spilling out onto the patio, porch and even beyond. Built in 1952 to house no more than a few hundred campers in a summer, we now must be creative when feeding the over 2,500 summer campers we serve annually.

- Glisson staff members were happy to serve on Glisson Day. Robert and Judy Boullineau helped visitors decorate their nametags, while Shirley Chastain helped visitors with general information and lunch tickets.

- By the afternoon, the clouds had moved out and the weather was perfect for alumni to sit at the Falls to reminisce about younger days as campers. Many reunions occurred in front of the chapel after worship ended.

- In the interest of true servant leadership, our summer staff who were completing Pre-camp activities this weekend voluntarily waited to eat lunch later than our visitors - and they chose to sit on the sidewalk out in front of the Dining Hall to make as much seating as possible available to alumni and visitors.
