Fly Fishing & Kayaking

During the fly fishing adventure campers will spend two days and two nights out of camp.  They will camp in a conservation area that has a protected trout stream.  The first day of the adventure campers will learn the basics about how to cast, tie a lure, read a stream and land a fish.  While practicing their skills, camper will have the opportunity to catch fish that they will cook for dinner.  The second day campers will fish in a trout stream practicing the catch and release technique.  Campers will also hike some of the many trails at the conservation area.  As a day trip campers will kayak several miles of the Chestatee River located in Dahlonega.  When in camp, the campers will learn wilderness skills, participate in creek hikes, make candles, play field games, care for a garden, help with a service projects and take part in team initiatives.
