Kayaking & Rappeling

On the kayaking and rappelling adventure campers will spend two days and two nights away from the Outpost.  Campers will establish camp alongside the river where they will spend both nights.  There are picnic tables and a fire ring at the campsite which is ideal for building community among an adventure group.  Campers will kayak approximately fourteen miles on the Chestatee River over two days.  Wildlife such as turtles, beavers and a variety of fish abound in the river.  The Chestatee offers adventurous rapids as well as calm waters ideal for playing games.  As a day trip campers will go rappelling at a local rock face.  When in camp, the campers will learn wilderness skills, participate in creek hikes, make candles, play field games, care for a garden, help with a service project and take part in team initiatives.
