Living Groups
Living groups are counselor-planned activities for the campers. Each living group activity is designed to include all the campers and promote group unity and intimacy. Living Group builds community and relationships. Some living groups are fun and crazy and wild, while others are more calm and worshipful. Counselors make sure to plan a balanced week, so the campers get to experience all types of activities.
One special aspect of living group activities is that they are often themed events. The counselors will pick a color, movie, book, super hero, vocation, etc., and do an activity that goes along with that theme. It’s amazing how a little paint and construction paper and a lot of creativity can turn a camper into superman or a counselor into a banana!
Some examples of living groups are:
• Oregon trail Creek Hike
• Prayer walk to Mountain Top
• Glisson Olympics on the Grassy Knoll
• Gilligan’s Island Swim
• Communion at the Falls
