"My daughter wants to grow coming to Glisson and one day be a counselor too! You All Rock!"

Pioneer Camp

Outpost Creek Hike Rising 3rd-6th grade: Be a part of the Glisson Pioneer camp at Outpost! This exciting camp provides an opportunity for campers to learn a variety of outdoor living skills as they experience the peace and beauty of God's creation. Pioneer campers will spend the week at Outpost and participate in many outdoor activities to help them understand their role in group involvement at camp and how it relates to life back home and God's call in their heart. Some of these activities include fire-building, cooking, knot-tying, creek hikes, field games, and all the elements involved in small group camping. Each year, campers will gain a higher level of outdoor living skills endorsed by the American Camping Association as this experiential wilderness education strengthens their skills, faith, and confidence.

For two of their days, week-long campers will travel to a nearby ranch to learn horseback riding skills and safety. Mini Camp (rising 2nd - 4th grade) is a two-night Pioneer camp experience designed to give campers and parents a taste of what a week at Outpost is like. Mini campers participate in many of the same activities Pioneer campers do, but will not ride horses.
