Russell joined the Glisson staff in 2007. His duties include overall responsibility for all Glisson ministries. Raised in Dublin, Georgia, Russell brings to this role 15 years experience in United Methodist camping. He served North Georgia churches in youth ministry in the years prior to beginning his camp and retreat ministry, a time during which he led numerous youth retreats at Camp Glisson.
Shirley has been on the Glisson staff since 1976. Her duties include managing the business operations and handling the bookkeeping, but she is passionate about Glisson's ministry and the difference it makes in the lives of children and youth.
David joined the Glisson staff in 1995 and has served as Maintenance Director since 1998. He is responsible for all building and ground maintenance, as well as housekeeping. In addition to coordinating all maintenance activities, David also serves on rotation as host to retreat groups - making sure the retreat experience is as smooth as possible, allowing groups to hear God's still, small voice during their retreats on this holy ground.
Bradley rejoined the Glisson staff in 2010. He previously served as Glisson's first full-time program director from 1993 to 1999. As Assistant Director, Bradley oversees Glisson's day-to-day operations and the Adventure Outpost program.
Kim rejoined the Glisson staff in 2011. She was a long-time camper and summer staffer, serving as a counselor in 1993-1994 and a section leader in 1996. Prior to her current position, Kim served as Conference Youth Coordinator for the North Georgia Conference for four years. As Program Director, Kim heads up the Program Team that works together to coordinate every aspect of Glisson's summer camp programs.
Cameron rejoined the Glisson staff in 2011. He was a Glisson Intern from ‘08-’10 and a summer staffer and camper before that. Cameron oversees various projects such as web development, print marketing, summer worship & media, strategic planning, and outcomes measurement.
Davey served on Summer Staff as an Outpost Trip Leader in '09 and an Outpost Co-Director in '10 and as the Challenge Course Director in '11. His year-long internship begins August '11 and runs until August '12.
Lacey re-joined the Glisson staff in 2008. She was a summer camper as a 4th, 5th and 6th grader from 1992 through 1994, then served as a Village Counselor in the summer of 2004. Lacey graduated from Reinhardt College in 2005 with her Bachelor's degree, then spent the next three years in management positions with a dental practice and a restaurant group. As Camper and Alumni Coordinator, Lacey is responsible for managing camper registrations and implementing our new camper registration system. She will also be working with our Glisson Alumni as we create opportunities for our alumni to re-connect.
Pam joined the Glisson staff in 2004. She is usually the first person you meet when you visit Glisson, and typically is the first voice you hear when you call us. Pam organizes many of Glisson's marketing efforts, manages The Miner's Shack (our camp store) and coordinates communication with our Glisson Ambassadors.
Phil joined the Glisson staff in 2006. He was a Glisson summer camper himself from 1975 through 1979, and attended numerous youth retreats at Glisson with his UMYF group through 1982. Phil's three children now represent a third generation of Dodsons as Glisson summer campers. His responsibilities include all on-going development efforts, as well as the new Glisson Alumni ministry - helping former campers and staff with opportunities to re-connect with Glisson and with each other.
Jeremy joined the Glisson staff in 2008. He helps take care of the facilities and loves being part of the Glisson family. He especially enjoys getting to meet new brothers and sisters in Christ during their stay at Glisson. Jeremy's two sons enjoy coming to camp each summer.
William joined the Glisson staff in 2010. He helps maintain our facilities and says he could not ask for better people to work with. William especially enjoys seeing all the excited campers come in each year, including his own two children.
Cecilia joined the Glisson staff part-time in 2011, bringing along a wealth of day camp leadership experience. During the school year, Cecilia works as a teacher in Athens while coordinating Day Camp details in her spare time. During the summer, Cecilia transitions to full-time and oversees the Day Camp Program and Experiential Leadership Program.
Amanda re-joined the Glisson staff this Fall as our first ever two-year intern. She was a summer camper for many years, then served as a Village Counselor in 2005 and 2006, Assistant Crew Director in 2009, Co-Crew Director in 2010, and Oupost Director in 2011. Amanda graduated from GCSU in 2009 with her Bachelor's degree in Psychology.
