     - Online Health Form.  No more paper health forms!
     - This new system helps keep costs low
     - Better customer service
     - Eliminate most paperwork

Camp Glisson Day Camps:
Last year a group of Glisson LITs hosted a Day Camp experience for a church in the North Georgia Conference.  Due to their success we are going to offer this experience to other churches.  All LITs serving during the summer of 2009 will be hosting Glisson Day Camps throughout the North Georgia Conference.  Click here to find out more!

Adventure Outpost

The adventure Outpost is the fastest growing program at Glisson.  This year, we have new opportunities, including a two-week trip to the mountains and coast of North Carolina.

  • Two-week Trip: Mountains to the Sea!
This experience will take campers on exciting adventures, including rock climbing, rafting and hiking as well as camping on the beach and other ocean activities in the Boundary Waters of North Carolina.  If you are looking to take your Outpost experience to the next level, this is it!
  • Hiking and Rafting: Campers will spend three days backpacking on the Appalachian Trail and then finish the experience with a rafting trip on the Nantahala River.  This trail takes you through some of the most beautiful scenery of the southern section of the Appalachian Trail.
  • Rafting and Rafting: Last year's rafting and lake tour trip has been revised to a rafting and rafting trip.  We have dropped the lake tour experience and replaced it with another full day of rafting on the Nantahala River.
  • Camp Glisson Adventure School
The Adventure School experience takes place during mini-camp week.  The idea behind these experiences is to focus more on the technical skills of a particular adventure sport: Challenge Course, Rock Climbing and Kayaking.  Check back soon for more information on this new opportunity!

Village

  • Rising 3rd graders can now stay the entire week during all six elementary weeks offered.
  • Senior high campers can choose a mission project as their Interest Group.  Each afternoon the mission team will spend several hours serving in the local community.
  • Two-week Village camp for Mid-High campers! Although the two-week program is similar to the one-week, certain components make this program special:
         - Stronger relationships with those in your living group
         - The second week's activities are planned by the campers.
         - The weekend experience includes a hiking trip to local
water falls and a campout experience at the Glisson Outpost.
         - There is also time for washing clothes and resting as well.

Sparrowwood

  • Sparrowwood campers will arrive on Sunday instead of Monday
  • Sparrowwood mini-camp will be offered for 7-9-year-old campers
  • Sparrowwood Lodge now has central air-conditioning and beautiful new wood panel ceilings!
